Academic stress and coping in high school adolescents

Background: Education stress is widely recognized as one of the most important precursors leading to depression in adolescent life. This study explores prevalence academic among high school going adolescents, contributing factors and coping strategies used by students. The finding this aids teaching institutes better understanding due present methods. Methods: A cross-sectional was conducted 2020 at both private government schools Kozhikode, Kerala. 371 students were selected randomly. questionnaire developed incorporating educational scale for (ESSA), (ASC) simplified styles (SCSQ). Results: 70.8% have minimal stress, 25.8% moderate 0.002% 0.02 did not stress. Female participants experienced more compared male (p value=0.04). Participants with less educated father value <0.001) mother Last year final exam grade value=0.005) parental pressure value=0.008) With regard deployment 0.5% never any strategies, 53.6% occasionally, 45% often coping, 0.8% frequently. Conclusions: Most children studying main that contribute are female gender, low education level, poor grade.
